Jonathan Michaels

Area of expertise: varicose veins

Mr. Michaels is professor of vascular surgery at the University of Sheffield, and honorary consultant vascular surgeon for the Sheffield Teaching Hospital NHS Trust. He is involved with teaching and does research on health services and surgery on blood vessels.

He has written many articles on these subjects and is an editor for the Cochrane library, which collects and analyses research to help doctors put research into practice. Mr. Michaels has written a detailed study of the treatment of varicose veins for the NHS.
