Ian Burgess

Area of expertise: head lice

Ian Burgess is the director of Insect Research & Development Limited. This is a company that deals with insects, public health and food safety.

He was previously the deputy director of the Medical Entomology Centre in Cambridge, where he ran various research programmes on the same subject. (Entomology means the study of insects.) He is now doing research into insects such as head lice becoming resistant to treatment.
